Maps can be a great decorating tool. The older, the better. Cool maps of Africa or Europe where countries have been eliminated or borders changed, is a great conversation piece for guests.
If you are a world traveler and want to have a map, maybe pinpointing all of your travels (so far!) as a feature wall, then you actually have a couple of options available to you. First off, you can find companies who will create one from a photo, and other companies who distribute ready-made murals available that offer a variety of colors, themes and projections. And maps are suitable for pretty much any room in the house- not just the office.
First there is the wall decal, or wall sticker. These are the easiest to apply, and you can find some with low tack so as to move them if you make a positioning error. Here are some examples:

Then there are wall murals and wall paper. Both are commonly made of vinyl, and hanging murals is usually similar to hanging wallpaper.
