Paint Color Trends 2013

2013 looks simply refreshing when it comes to paint trends.   The authority in color trends- Pantone has an extensive palette of soft and bold spring like colors that will drive all the seasons of the new year. What I love most about this new trend is that the colors remind me of fields of flowers and coastal living- all wrapped into one.  Hard not to think things are getting better when you surround yourself with these hues. Pantone's 2013 Color of the year is Emerald 17-5641.

Benjamin Moore's color of the year lemon sorbet 2019-60 could easily evoke the sense of being on a softly lit morning beach. A great color for a cottage. There are five palettes in their 2013 palette: Artisan, Urbanite, New Traditional and Coastal.  You will find lemon sorbet in the Coastal collection.

Behr Paints (available at the Home Depot) states that "post- recession optimism opens the doors to adventurous styles..." If you will notice, that each palette contains a touch of blue.

Sico's parent company Dutch based, Akzo- Nobel released their color of the year, Indigo Night GLV21.  The company says offers a "sense of tranquility and stability..." offered where Glidden paint is sold.

Dunn-Edwards goes forth with four palettes: Re-invented, Re-newal, Re-imagined, and Re-vival.  All great terms as people struggle to do many of these things in their lives this year. You can check out all four palettes at www.specspaces.com
